Job Description

Summer intern needed for a local non-profit organization that offers support to at-risk families and children in the community. Part-time paid position, $12 per hour, under 29 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Demographics

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Education
    • Must be a current college senior at CSU Stanislaus, UC Merced, or University of the Pacific
    • OR have recently graduated within the last 12 months from one of the above universities
    • OR be a current college student at Modesto Junior College in their last year of an AA or AS degree program who either (1) does not plan on transferring to a university or (2) plans to take time off to work before transfering to a university.
  • Must be willing to undergo eligibility for college internship.
  • Must be a Stanislaus county resident.

Skills

  • Solid written and oral communications skills; ability to communicate on a professional level with volunteers, peers, board, sponsors and businesses in person, via email, written correspondence and by phone.
  • Highly organized -- must be able to organize work, meet deadlines, be able to work with changing priorities
  • Presentations -- skills with professional presentations for clients, board, community organizations, at schools, etc.
  • Events -- ability to successfully help plan events for agency (health fair, client event, fundraisers, receptions, open house, etc.) under direction of Executive Director; major focus will be a Summer 2019 fundraiser.
  • Computer skills - able to produce Word, Excel, Power Point and Publisher documents such as flyers, presentations, sponsor letters, posting to web site and Facebook; able to use Mail Chimp; must be able to use computer skills to track guest counts, event costs, and other items
  • Must be positive, professional individual; able to work independently and as part of team; open to new ideas and learning.
