Full-Time Senior Manager of Communications in Modesto

Position Information: 

The Senior Manager, Communications provides strategic and tactical support to Public Affairs and Corporate Communications encompassing the development of communications strategies to support business strategies, oversight of key internal communications channels, production of materials and events for executive communications, and message development to support brand strategies. The position develops communications plans and establishes measures of success and evaluation for the outcome of each plan. The position interfaces with Banner operations leadership, Marketing and Merchandising teams, Human Resources, Labor Relations, and the company’s senior leadership team.

Requirements: 

  • Four-year college degree, or equivalent knowledge gained through formal education, specialized training, or additional job experience.
  • Five years of directly related experience.
  • Occasional travel required.
  • Basic office and store environment: ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, use stairs, reach, pull and lift objects
  • Knowledge of project management, strategy development, materials writing, tactical project management, and impact evaluation.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative project management and leading communications strategy in a corporate environment
  • Demonstrated success in managing a team
  • Exceptional communications skills (written, verbal, presentation)
  • Highly developed organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build solid partnerships both internally and externally
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Collaborate with key business leaders to successfully deploy cross-functional business initiatives; influences business roll-outs with the integration of strategic communications plans. 
  • Manage the corporate communications team
  • Serve as the primary interface between the Communications department and various internal stakeholders; provides communications consultation and strategy development to various internal entities
  • Manage internal communications content, developing associate communications strategies, and contributing to successful business outcomes
  • Represent the company at various internal and external events
  • Performs other duties as assigned
