Part-Time Tutoring Position in Stockton

Applied Behavior Consultants, Inc. (ABC) is a human services agency that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for children on the Autism Spectrum.

We are now hiring for tutors to provide 1:1 services on cases based at our Stockton Center.

We provide extensive paid training for all new hires!

Positions are part time (10-20 hours per week) an can take place between the hours of:
  • Monday- Friday 7:45- 12:00 or 
  • Monday- Friday 12:00 PM- 5:00 PM
  • All shifts include 1-2 Saturday shifts a month scheduled as needed.

Job Description

Tutors will work 1:1 with clients and implement lesson plans that are based on their client’s skills, deficits, communication needs and behavioral difficulties in order to assist the child in reaching their full potential.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Have HS diploma or GED for entry level positions.
  • Must relate well to children and families and be able to remain professional in stressful situations
  • Provide Negative TB test prior to start of position (Can be up 4 years old)
  • Provide proof of immunity to/vaccination against Mumps, Measles, Rubella and Varicella (Chicken Pox) prior to start of position.
  • Must complete CPR training within 1 month
  • A clear criminal background check prior to start of position
  • Valid Driver License and your own reliable insured transportation.
  • Be able to run, be active for long periods of time (including sitting on the floor, climbing stairs, standing for long periods of time) lift at least 50 pounds and handle intensive physical behaviors displayed by clients
  • Excellent English Oral and Written Communication Skills
  • Must commit to scheduled hours for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Must be available during one of these shift times:*M-F 7:45- 12:00 or M-F 12:00 AM - 5:00 PM and Saturday mornings 8:30- 12:30 (for Saturday shift possibly 1-2 times per month)
  • Applicants cannot have any extended planned time off within first 6 months of employment.
  • Applicants must be able to attend a week long 40 hour training at our Stockton Center.

  • Once initial training is complete and staff pass their introductory period, ABC will assist with the costs to become a RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) through the BACB and you may be eligible for a pay raise as soon as 6 months in to the position.

We hold 3 informational sessions weekly at our offices, these sessions last 30-45 minutes and applicants get priority interview times for attending.
  • Tuesdays at 10:00 AM
  • Wednesdays at 8:15 AM
  • Thursdays at 3:45 PM
