About Us

Sierra Vista Child & Family Services has been helping abused, neglected and emotionally disturbed children and families in crisis in California’s Central Valley since 1972. We do this through a series of integrated programs that include mental health services, early childhood services, special education, therapeutic residential treatment, adoption, foster care, clinical and family support in homes and schools, Perinatal Substance Abuse Treatment and community counseling. Our goal is to help children reach their full potential, and provide access to quality programs and services that make a difference to a child, their family, and the entire community.

This Position

The Fund Development and Marketing Specialist will be primarily responsible for the planning and coordinating of all fundraising events and special projects in addition to communication and cultivation of current and potential donors/sponsors for those events/projects. Also, assist with the marketing activities such as content development, social media, and other related projects.  

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administrative and coordination tasks that support agency marketing and fund development efforts.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records for donor database
  • Work with the Marketing & Fund Development Director to coordinate cultivation of existing donors through targeted outreach, communications and event strategies.
  • Work with Marketing & Fund Development Director to identify and coordinate cultivation of new door prospects from viable sources.
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of other projects such as Adopt-a-Family, Gikas Dinner, Joan’s Jammie Drive, etc..
  • Coordinate direct mail and direct ask solicitations.
  • Organize and manage special event/fundraising events for the agency.
  • Follow timelines. Based on assignments.
  • Responsible for correspondence related to events.
  • Get supplies and run various errands needed for events.
  • Help procure sponsors and donations for events.
  • Assist in the Development of the Marketing Plans for new and expanding Sierra Vista Programs.
  • Assist with advertising, marketing, press releases and public relations related to special events.
  • Assist in writing and publication of all agency PR materials.
  • Maintain and inventory all property belonging to Marketing/Fund Development Department (i.e., photos, recognition items, boards, easels etc.)
  • Organize and maintain all event records, plans, and materials.
  • Public Relations and public speaking engagements as assigned
  • Report any suspected child abuse immediately to direct supervisor or if not available, utilize the chain of command.
  • Report any suspected dependent adult/elder abuse immediately to direct supervisor or if not available, utilize the chain of command. 
  • Everyone who works in the organization has responsibilities for preventing and controlling infection.

Qualifications

  • College degree in related field required.
  • Three to five years of successful experience in the areas of events, fundraising, donor database management, and marketing.
  • Professional appearance, communication and presentation.
  • Ability to work effectively with the Marketing & Fund Development Director, Chief Executive Officer, donors and community individuals.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must have excellent writing ability, be able function independently, possess strong interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, be flexible, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with personnel, the public and volunteers.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license with less than 2 minor moving violations
