Job Description
The Training Specialist, working closely with the Talent Management & Development Team, will support, facilitate and administer learning programs for TWG’s employees. Acting as a new hire ambassador, the Training Specialist will collaborate with Recruiting, HR and IT to make the onboarding experience elegant and as efficient as possible. The Training Specialist will play a critical role on a growing and geographically dispersed team, building and executing on impactful programs to help The Wine Group accelerate its future growth and innovation.
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Deliver high-impact training in live classroom and virtual settings;
- Plan, organize, facilitate and ensure all content is relevant and ready for employee development and training events
- Aid the Sr. Director, Talent & Development in the redesign of the company onboarding program; own the execution of TWG Onboarding and Immersion Program; and
- Lead and manage execution of and reporting on TWG’s eLearning Program
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Independently lead and facilitate employee learning and development programs;
- Serve as one of the primary points of contact for employees regarding training and development;
- Develop and maintain training materials and online resources;
- Develop and maintain organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources;
- Manage TWG’s Employment Training Panel (ETP) program;
- Identify any additional government and/or third-party funds/tax refunds to aid TWG’s training initiatives
- Collaborate with the Talent Management and Development Team and other internal stakeholders on the design and identification of in-house and external learning solutions;
- Continually work to find process improvements to maximize the team’s efficiency;
- Help to develop the company’s Culture/Employee Engagement Survey strategy and process;
- Help to communicate training performance metrics to the relevant stakeholders;
- Stay current on developments, innovations and best practices in corporate training and education in and out of the wine industry so that TWG’s training remains highly effective, relevant, efficient, cost-effective and practical.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development or similar;
- Minimum 5 years' combined work experience in human resources or learning and development;
- Proven facilitation skills and the ability to manage group dynamics;
- Strong interpersonal skills; Leads by example; Enjoys working with others in a collaborative, social environment; Effective at building and maintaining strong relationships;
- Has a passion for excellence; attention to detail is critical to success;
- Stay current on developments and innovations in training and education in our industry so that TWG’s training remains relevant;
- Can “roll up sleeves” and design/contribute learning programs as needed;
- Possesses superior verbal and written communication skills; Excellent proficiency in PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel; and
- HR Business Partnership Experience a plus
- Travel is required, mostly in Central and Northern California; may be required to work at any of TWG's locations
- Both office and winery production environment
- Ability to routinely lift wine cases weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Extensive computer work
- Numerous projects in progress at any given time
- Comply with company safety regulations
