Full-Time Temporary Meeting & Special Events Planner in Modesto

Company: E & J Gallo Winery

Job Description

As a Temporary Meeting & Special Events Planner reporting to the Category Manager of Meetings & Events, you will be a key member of the team.  By leveraging your talents--your ability to plan, coordinate, and execute meetings and events within budget, you’ll allow the largest winery in the world to focus on what it does best: make wine.

Responsibilities

  • Obsess over Details: Classroom or U-shape? Front Project or Rear? Chicken or Salmon? Indoor seating or outdoor seating? You have weighed all of the options because not only did you select the food offerings, you managed the budget, selected the venue, negotiated the contract, managed all the logistics, you were the brain child behind the communication materials, and ensured that all the attendees had a good meeting experience. Well done.
  • Have Plan A, Plan B, Plan C…: You don’t believe that anything that can go wrong will go wrong…but just in case it does, you have so many backup plans, that it makes the average person’s head spin. You’ve done the research to know how to get the best options …and you’ve stayed within budget. After your event, you conduct a look back because you know that the only way to stay great is to continuously strive for greatness.
  • Rack up Frequent Flyer Miles: You could be travelling 30%-40% of the time so our ideal candidate will enjoy room service, long queues at the airport and figuring out how to turn on the headlights in a rental car.
  • Never the Same Day Twice…: Be able to work at a fast pace, within an always changing work environment. Ability to stay on top priorities while traveling. Long hours and high stress environment
  • Building Collaborative Relationships: You’ll be in constant contact with vendors near and far. You will have to manage stakeholder relationships to ensure your deliverables are a success and completed on time. You will accomplish this through frequent status updates with your stakeholders and managing the expectations of all parties involved.
