Job Description

Responsible for developing, leading and improving the organization’s Total Talent strategy.  This work begins with Inspiring a great workplace and communicating this in the communities and industries we serve.  It continues in assuring we Hire top talent through our talent acquisition team.    You will lead our Leadership Development and Operational Training teams assuring effective Training and Development systems.  

This work will advance our Talent and Performance Management processes.  You will create sustainable mentoring and coaching programs as an owner for the integration of the desired culture of the company in all training and development initiatives.   This work creates an inviting, engaging, high performing workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and lead initiatives to spread and deepen the desired culture of Hilmar Cheese Company.  
  • Analyze, define and enhance effective performance management systems and assure they drive the expected behaviors for our team. 
  • Responsible for the Inspire to Hire strategy – including campus recruitment, community impact and talent acquisition by creating a talent partnership model in the business. 
  • Design and facilitate the Talent Management and Succession Planning process for the organization. 
  • Design, develop and deliver high impact learning programs. Through creating strategies to improve and optimize technical and leadership skill development programs you ensure that employees have the skills needed to be successful. 
  • Collaborate with business leaders to define short-term and long-term needs of training programs, to include elements such as classroom training, demonstrations, on-the-job training, meetings, conferences, and workshops.  Assess delivery effectiveness of training programs, monitor efficacy of required compliance training and identify improvements that increase new skill acceptance and utilization.
  • Owns the employee survey processes to understand how we can enhance the employee experience and our workplace. 
  • Prepare, manage and deliver budget to meet financial expectations.
  • Plan the implementation and facilitation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources 
  • Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.

Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years in HR or  LD/ OE experience, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume environment; manufacturing background a plus
  • Experience in program management of leadership development initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Proficient working with Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Exceptional consulting, coaching and feedback skills ; Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results
  • Strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management and prioritization skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Master’s  degree in Leadership Development, Human Resources Management or relevant field. 
  • Ten years experience in leading a Talent Team or HR organization with talent responsibility. 
  • Experience utilizing licensed coaching tools, particularly in 360° tools to enhance individual growth. 
  • Experience utilizing Behavioral Assessments such as Strengths Finder or Everything DiSC to enhance team performance.
