Job Description

You will lead and execute all communication activities for Hilmar Cheese Company in this leading role. This includes the strategic development, implementation and measurement for all internal and external communications tools such as website, digital marketing, branding, and public relations. You will build messaging plans. You will help manage the company’s reputation and build our brand among key audiences.

You will serve as a trusted and sought after advisor to the senior leadership team. This work will advance our internal and external visibility and processes to assure a trusted and respected organization in our industry. This work creates an inviting, engaging, high performing environment.

Responsibilities


  • Drive corporate strategy and message development through all communication channels for all audiences. Is responsible for developing digital strategies.
  • Manage company brand and reputation through public communications, content and involvement in industry partnerships.
  • Develop and manage branding initiatives in collaboration with product, sales and marketing teams and human resource teams.
  • Lead the coordination and fulfillment of media requests and PR activities.
  • Serves as point of contact directly or with staff for external agencies (Ad, PR, Communication, and some Industry groups) and coordinates the internal activity and utilization.
  • Serves as thought leader/ editor/ writer on internal communications, announcements, publications, press releases, newsletters and other special projects requiring communications insight.
  • Support the development of strategies for delivery of corporate culture and business plans to align with employee engagement goals.
  • Assures communication and plans demonstrate the company’s values and define the voice of Hilmar Cheese to our stakeholders.
  • Prepare, manage and deliver budget to meet financial expectations.
  • Plan the implementation and facilitation of activities and events, budget spending, material production and distribution, and other resources
  • Achieve common business goals through cooperative alignment with all departments.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or relevant field.
  • Minimum of 8 years in progressive experience in Communications.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time
  • Proficient working with typical office software and social media channels.
  • Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results.
  • Strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation skills, interpersonal skills; high quality document and report preparation.
  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management and prioritization skills.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in Business, Communication, English or relevant field.
  • Ten years experience in leading a communications function, ideally in a B2B privately held organization; manufacturing background a plus
