This blog was created as part of Professor Leslie Collins' 2019 sabbatical project.

Leslie Collins is a Professor of Communication Studies at Modesto Junior College in Modesto, California. Her sabbatical project focused on retaining Communication Studies talent in the Modesto area through strategic partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and universities.

Postings on the blog are regularly sourced from JobSpeaker, the MJC Career Services Center, indeed.com, and LinkedIn. All "Pro Tips" are written by Leslie Collins. Joshua Sigman is the mind behind the blog's graphic design. Professor Nancy Backlund was instrumental in providing resources to help job seekers who need to complete a typing test.

Professor Collins would like to thank the MJC Sabbatical Committee and the YCCD Board of Trustees for approving this project. She appreciates her colleagues in the Communication Studies Department for covering her responsibilities during the sabbatical. She is grateful to Dejeune Shelton and LaKiesha McDonald in the Career Services Center for introducing her to JobSpeaker, Career One Stop, and the Center's resume and cover letter workshops for MJC students.
